Routine appointments

We will now be triaging all appointments and booking them into the most clinically appropriate appointment with the most suitable healthcare professional to meet your specific needs.

We understand that some appointments require more urgent attention than others, which is why we’ve categorised them into four categories:

  • Same day
  • Urgent (within 72 hours)
  • Urgent (within 1 week)
  • Routine (within 4 weeks).

The above gives a general overview of our triage model. We understand that not every patient will fit neatly into these categories, so our team makes decisions on a case-by-case basis to ensure your individual needs are met. We aim to see everyone within the appropriate timeframes, but during particularly busy periods, there may be occasional delays.

This triage system helps us to manage our appointments more efficiently and effectively, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely and appropriate manner. To request an appointment, please fill in our online consultation service, PATCHS.

PATCHS is available for requests Monday – Friday. Please be advised that you need to register for an account before you can submit a request. A step-by-step guide on how to register can be found at the reception desk if you need assistance.

*Please note that we are unable to action any requests if you are out of the country*

Urgent Appointments

An urgent appointment may be given either on the same day or within 2 to 3 days depending on the clinical decision of the GP reviewing your PATCHS. Please put as much clinical information in about your conditions and symptoms to help our GPs triage you for the correct appointment timeframe.

If you disagree with the length of time you are given for your appointment, please submit a PATCH adding the further information that you would like to be considered.

Occasionally due to high demand or unforeseen factors, we may reach our capacity to offer urgent on the day appointments. You will be advised what to do in these circumstances which could include attending Accident & Emergency or a Walk In Centre.

Cancelling your appointment

If you wish to cancel an appointment or are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as you can.

Request An Appointment Online

You can request an appointment online by completing a PATCH. You will be triaged in line with our GPs clinical judgement and allocated an appointment date and time. Sometimes, further information is necessary for us to help you and we will contact you via PATCHS, phone or email as appropriate.

Home Visits

If you need a doctor and are housebound, please telephone before 10.00am if at all possible for a visit and be prepared to give some details to the receptionists about the problem. This will enable the doctor to decide priority cases for visits.
