Important Information for patients who bring urine specimens in for testing:
From the 1st of March 2021 we will be only accepting urine samples to be dropped off that have been requested by a health professional for example as part of a diabetic or renal review. From this date we will no longer be dipping urine samples dropped off for suspected urinary tract (water) infections unless requested by a health care professional as this is no longer considered best practice. If you feel that you may be suffering from a urinary tract (water) infection please complete an e consult so we have your clinical information for when the GP or advanced nurse practitioner contacts you to ensure that you receive the right treatment, this will depend on your symptoms rather than on a urine dipstick test in keeping with current guidelines. Your local pharmacist rather than your GP is your first point of call if you suspect that you have a urinary tract (water) infection if you fall into the following categories : -Are Female -Are aged 18-65 years -Not pregnant -No fever -No abdominal (tummy), back or loin pain -No vomiting -No visible bleeding
The Practice is currently sending out text messages to invite patients aged 65 and over and those 16 to 64 with underlying conditions for their covid-19 vaccination, if you receive a text message please contact the surgery on 0151 929 5555 to book your appointment as soon as possible. We cannot say how long it will take to complete this cohort because deliveries of the vaccine are not yet confirmed. THE PRACTICE IS VERY BUSY AT THE MOMENT, PLEASE AVOID CALLING THE SURGERY OR SUBMITTING AN E-CONSULT IF YOUR QUERY IS SIMPLY RELATED TO WHEN YOU CAN EXPECT TO RECEIVE YOUR COVID VACCINATION INVITE. We very much appreciate your patience at this busy time
Due to concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus the Practice has taken the unprecedented step to change all of our routine face to face appointments to eConsult. No appointment bookings or queries will be taken at the desk, please telephone or use eConsult for us to appropriately deal with your request. Samples can be dropped in through the window and prescriptions requests in the box outside. REMEMBER TO BOOK YOUR CERVICAL SCREENING Cervical screening can stop cancer before it starts Please contact the practice on 0151 929 5555 to book your smear today!

Get the latest NHS information and advice about coronavirus Covid 19 Vaccine Fraud Criminals are using the COVID-19 vaccine as a way to target the public by tricking them to hand over cash or financial details. They are sending convincing looking text messages letting people know they are eligible for the vaccine or phoning people directly pretending to be from the NHS, or local pharmacy. https://www.wirralccg.nhs.uk/media/7902/covid-19-vaccine-fraud-poster.pdf
eConsult is a secure online tool for registered patients to contact the surgery and submit a medical or administrative request online between the hours of 18:30 on Sunday until 18:30 on Friday each week. Our team will review every request and make sure it is passed to the most relevant health care professional. How to contact Out of Hours Service, when eConsult is not available at weekends should you need medical assistance (From Friday 18:30 Until Monday 8:00am), Please telephone 111 for the out of hours service, or 999 for a medical emergency.
Covid-19 Vaccinations are being delivered according to priority groups identified by the Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI). The vaccinations may not take place at your GP practice, but rather a local vaccination service (led by GPs, practice nurses and community pharmacists) who are responsible for delivering the vaccine to people in your community. When it is the right time for you to receive your vaccination, you will receive an invitation to come forward. This may be via the phone, or through a letter either from your GP or the national booking system. We know lots of people will be eager to get protected but we are asking people not to contact the surgery to find out when they will have their vaccination as this can take up phone line for other medical enquires.
